Royal Visit marks opening of new Heart and Lung Centre as NHS celebrates 60th Birthday

In the week of the 60th anniversary of the NHS in Scotland, Deputy First Minister and Health Secretary Nicola Sturgeon today hosted a visit by Her Majesty The Queen and His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh to open a new state of the art Heart and Lung Centre for the West of Scotland.

Public Health Roadshows

NHS Health Scotland is hosting a nationwide Public Health Roadshow to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the NHS in Scotland. The Roadshow looks back over the last 60 years of health improvement in Scotland and shows how far we have come. From advances in medicine and technology to the introduction of healthy living campaigns, Scotland has come a long way since 1948.
