Dr Doom

My fists are clenched,
My brow is sweaty,
I stare up the gloomy street,
I slowly take a step forward,
However I soon begin to retreat.

Mum starts dragging me forward,
So I begin to scream,
This is NOT what I'd hoped for,
This is more of a scary dream.

I imagine myself with a rucksack,
And a torch in one of my hands,
Suddenly monsters start spinning around me,
Like they're performing a spooky dance.

I suddenly hear echoing footsteps,
I'm sure it's Dr. Doom,
I start to shake all nervously,
I'm all alone in the demon waiting room.

I sit with my cast on the table,
Dr. Doom appears with a drill,
He moves closer to me looking vicious,
I'm sure he's about to kill.

It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be,
I managed to confront my fears,
So now I can sit back and relax,
And celebrate the NHS being here for sixty years.

An analogy poem.
