I woke up in a strange place and sat up to look around. All the buildings were very strange. They were very tall and rather than made of brick they were made of metal. I walked onto the street filled with people and robots. I walked towards a news stand and looked at the newspaper and it said 30 September 2068. I was amazed and also impressed by the very big building in front of me. I walked into the automatic doors leading to a very clean place. Above the doors it said NHS meaning National Health Service, there was a long corridor along the centre of the building. I walked on to see hundreds of rooms with not that many people in them.
There were robots zooming all over the rooms there was not much equipment. Instead of an X-ray machine there was a hand held one. Rather than having hour long operations it only took minutes. You had a large room to yourself. There were different jobs for different robots. For cancer you had to stay in hospital for a few days because they gave you a minor operation and some medicine and that was you completely cured.
I saw someone take a phone call and listened in. It was someone wanting a check-up. The person on the phone asked when it suited, the person replied “in 2 days” the person replied “OK” I was amazed because if I wanted an appointment I would have to wait at least a week.
I went into a control room, on one of the TV’s it kept a record of how many people smoked and it was 1/100 of Scotland were still smoking. Suddenly I saw something appear infront of me, it was a transporter ambulance so you could get to hospital faster. I went up to it, there was a small panel that could travel in time so I set the date to 30 September 2008 and returned to the present.
